How My Travel Business Began: From Meaningful Moments to a Meaningful Mission
How My Travel Business Began: From Meaningful Moments to a Meaningful Mission
Some people fall into their careers by accident. Mine began with love—love for people, for new places, and for the simple joy of being together.
Travel has always held a special place in my heart. From the earliest days, I cherished every opportunity to explore, connect, and create memories—especially with the people I love most. Whether it was a spontaneous park day, a long car ride to visit family in the Carolinas or Florida, or a short stay at a local hotel to switch things up—we made the most of every moment. Sometimes that meant budgeting carefully by staying with family for a few days and splurging on a resort for the weekend when we could. It didn’t matter where we went—what mattered was who we were with and the memories we made.
As a nurse, I’ve had the honor of caring for people in every stage of life. And I’ve learned something deeply important: life is fragile, and connection is everything. Now, as I look toward retirement, I’ve found that my passion for travel is more than a personal joy—it’s a calling. Helping others step away from the noise of life, reconnect with loved ones, and experience something meaningful has become my mission.
Some of my most treasured memories with my daughters are the simplest ones—laughing on long road trips, sharing stories late into the night, even those silly moments of aggravating each other that are now sealed in my heart. But after experiencing loss, those memories became even more sacred. They’re part of what keeps me grounded and grateful.
That’s why I started Soaring Free Travel—to help others intentionally create those same kinds of moments. I want to help families, couples, solo travelers—anyone in need of connection or restoration—build trips that matter. Whether it's a once-in-a-lifetime cruise, a healing sabbatical, or a weekend getaway with your kids, these experiences become part of your story. They shape your family legacy.
And here’s what I wish I had known years ago:
✨ Travel doesn’t have to be expensive.
✨ You can budget and plan ahead.
✨ Many trips offer interest-free payment plans.
✨ The value of planning smartly is far greater than you think.
So whether you’re dreaming of a future getaway or wondering how to even begin—I’m here for you. Through this blog, I’ll be sharing stories from the road, helpful tips, travel inspiration, and encouragement to help you build unforgettable memories.
Because your time, your relationships, your life—are worth the journey.
